Kick the Winter Blues – A Musical Trip to Ireland
Berkshire Lyric Chorus, Melodious Accord, Lyric Children’s Chorus, Scoil Rince Bréifne Ó Ruairc
Celebrating their 60th Annivesary Season, Berkshire Lyric presents their annual “Kick The Winter Blues” pop concerts on Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19 at 3 pm at the Lenox Town Hall Auditorium. This year’s program is titled “A Musical Trip to Ireland,” and features popular and traditional Irish music sung by the Berkshire Lyric Chorus, the Lyric Children’s Chorus and Melodious Accord. Special guests will be the Berkshire Irish dance group, Scoil Rince Bréifne Ó Ruairc. The concerts are led by Lyric’s long time artistic director Jack Brown and accompanist Joe Rose. Lyric’s John Demler and Campbell Bridges will bring their unique humor to the program. Selections include many of the great traditional Irish favorites such as Danny Boy, the Parting Glass, When Irish Eyes are Smiling and The Unicorn Song. There will be several chances to sing along and the audience is encouraged to wear the green.
These are the first KTWB concerts since 2019 because of the pandemic. Prior concerts have been standing room only.
Children admitted free.
Proceeds from the concert support full scholarships for the many young singers who will be part of Lyric’s 100 voice chorus for the Ozawa Hall Tanglewood performance of the Brahms Requiem on June 4.
All ticket sales are final, disputes for technical issues etc. will be reviewed. Thanks!
